I am such a Slacker……. LOL!!
It has been a busy last two months. We have run hard, played hard, and worked twice as hard. So where to begin ……… Well, let’s start with the running hard. It has been the usual running back and forth to Twin to class, chasing kids to activities, and just trying to keep up with everything. My last day of running to class was last Tuesday, May 5th. Such a GREAT day, felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off of my shoulders. YAY!!!
The playing hard well, to begin with lets jump back to Spring Break. Hank and the kids took a day to go to Utah for a little road trip. They went to the Hill Airforce Base Museum, the Hogle Zoo, and of course they had to swing into Cabela’s. They had a good trip, I was stuck in class. Fun for me, NOT. That Friday of Spring Break we took off back to Utah to go do a little Trilobite digging. We had a good time playing and visiting with cousins, aunts, and uncles. Conference weekend and the Annual Egg hunt landed on the same weekend. So we hunted eggs and played on Saturday then on Sunday we loafed around and enjoyed listening to the talks, Kambrie had fun playing with her fun floam. Hanks birthday came and went before I knew it. Such a bad wife, I can’t say that I did anything for him. Sorry dear. Cameron earned his State Degree in FFA. Prom came rather quickly and rather costly. Cameron took Elizabeth and they had a good time. They both looked very nice. Both Cameron and Kambrie ran track this year. This was Kambrie’s first year and she did a great job for being a sixth grader. Cameron decided to take on pole vaulting this year and dumped the mile. He started running the 400. At districts he ended up running both the 400 and 800. Both the boys and girls teams took 1st at Districts.
Now for the working section, I will try to keep it brief. Hank has been working two jobs still trying to get me finished with school.I have spent so much time getting my six lessons ready for the first graders on the Life Cycle of a Seed. We had a good time learning about plants. We planted pumpkin seeds, looked at all sorts of plants, we learned about how plants help us and then we had a picnic to learn about the different parts of a plant that we eat. I finished my Technology Portfolio and was happy to have it out of my way. Then I worked my butt off getting my TWS done. The weekend before it was due I caught a horrible cold of some sort. I lost my whole weekend being sick; I had a horrible sore throat. Saturday I went into the Dr. and requested an antibiotic and a shot to speed things along. I ended up pulling an all nighter on Wednesday night of the 29th. Our TWS was due Thursday, April 30th by 5:00 p.m. It was such a relief to have it done. My last day with my first graders was on May 4th. I was kind of sad leaving them; they were a lot of fun to be with. Our last day of class was MAY 5th, such a FABULOUS day. I am still working part-time for Burley Glass too. We have all gotten signed up for 4-H and already had our first casualty for the year. Cameron’s lamb died the same day we picked it up. Hopefully, this is not a sign of lousy year. We have planted the garden and been working in the basement. I finally have my scraproom finished now to just get everything moved in. LOL!! Hank discovered my paper stash tonight; I don’t think he was too impressed. OOPS!
I have also been subbing so far I have been to the Burley Kindergarten and Declo Kindergarten. McKade was funny he asked me if I knew what time school started. He was worried I would be late I guess. Tomorrow I am going to sub in the 1st grade, then Thursday and Friday I get to venture to the High School. It has been a lot of fun to sub and a good learning experience.
Well, I don’t know what I have left out but there is a brief run down of the happenings in the Clark household for the last two months.
