March 9th - March 15th

Let's see Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were all about the same. I went into work for a little while to try and get some things figured out. Then of course it was off to school. This week we were in the classroom for these three days. Nothing overly eventful in the school this week. Monday evening we worked in a little FHE which is always good for us. It gives us a chance to sit and talk and get caught up on things going on. Wednesday night the kiddos went to mutual. Hank finished painting the trim in my room for me, YAY!!!! He has been working on my room and I soooooooo appreciate it. Tinkerbelle thinks my closet doors make a great perch for her furry little buns.

Thursday, March 12th Kambrie and I went to the Dr. to get looked over. He believes that the accident caused something to tear in my arm and to take it easy with it for a little while. Kambrie he said does have some lower back strain but she should be good to go. She just needs to ease into things and not over do it. Thursday, we were in lecture for our class time hoping to get prepped for our midterm. Our professor didn't cover much of it leaving us all with some major anxiety. Like that is what I needed this week.

When I returned from Twin Falls we went up to Parent Teacher Conferences. The kids are doing well and trying hard. Kambrie had all A's and B's with a C in Band. LOL!! She told me she doesn't lie about practicing when she hasn't, so I can't really punish her there. She has wanted to quit Band for some time now but signed a contract for the year, which won't kill her to finish out. Cameron's grades are good he has been working hard on bringing them up. He had A's and B's with 2 C's one in Geometry and one in Chemistry. Can't say that my grades in those two subjects were any better. The teachers complimented me on my kids behavior. Cameron's English teacher said she really enjoyed having Cameron in class, he was always respectful to her. We sat with Mr. Sager for quite sometime and just chatted. He shared a few stories with us from he and dad used to work together. I love hearing old stories. He says Cameron works hard in his class. Cameron had asked if he could have a few friends over to roast hot dogs and just to hang out. I told him it would be fine. Planned on about 5 or 6 boys by 10:00 p.m I had about 20 kids in backyard huddled around the fire. It was plenty chilly out but they seemed to have a good time.

Friday morning I stopped into work for a little bit then off to take my midterm. YUCK!! We got to class and took the midterm, which was an hour of essay writing. My arm was killing me by the time we were done. Come to find out it was a lesson to us on how not to test our own students by testing them on information they have not been given. Kind of a cruel learning experience I guess. Friday night I spent most of the night preparing for my PRAXIS II. Hank went to work, Cameron went to Island Park with dad, and Kambrie was partying it up at Macy's.

Saturday, UGH!!!!!!! Hank called me at 6:15 as I had requested. I was to be in Twin Falls ready to test at 7:30 a.m. I took the first exam which was a 2 hour content knowledge exam. I don't think it went too bad the only section I am really worried about is the Social Studies section, the math and science didn't seem too difficult. Maybe because I have to help Kambrie so much with her math. After that exam I had about 20 minutes to use the restroom, eat something, and go over my other notes. Then it was back into the testing room where I tested for another 2 hours this time it was all essay. My arm was killing me by the time I was done. After that I headed home, when I got home I went right back to bed. I was drained. I had a nice long nap. Kambrie had gone to the Idaho Falls museum with Mom, Mindy, Scott and all the kids. Hank got up and headed to work and I got ready to go to Tony's wedding reception with Mom, Mindy and all the clan. We had a good time visiting and singing along the way. We called and left a singing telegram on Marlea's phone. It was good to see Mike and Brenda and their kids. Tony's wife seems like a nice gal. Little Lyra has gotten so big since the last time I saw her. I hope things work out well for all of them. Jeff's little ones have grown a bunch too, Kambrie was happy to see little miss Mallorie. They all danced together and had a good time. Dad and Cameron returned from Island Park safe and sound. Cameron had a blast, all he can talk about is getting a new machine. :P He's going to have to save some $$ first.

Sunday, March 15th I woke up this morning feeling miserable. I am sure I picked up the nasty cold Cameron had last week. I slept in then went into work for a few hours to get caught up from the week. I came home fixed dinner and sent Hank off to work. I worked on my lesson plans a little bit, they are due tomorrow. All 6 of them, I am teaching my 1st graders the Life Cycle of a Plant. Cameron ran into town to get a spark plug for his scooter. When he came home he had brought me home a dozen red roses and a Thank You card. I looked at him kinda funny like what is this all about. I flat out asked him, "What did you do?" He said, "nothing". So then it was, "What do you want?" He again said, "Nothing". He said Brother Nebeker had challenged them in Young Men's to do this just to see how we would respond. I responded exactly the way he told them I would.

Well, suppose I better get busy on my plans. At least I am caught up for the week too. :) Have a great week.

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO!!!!!!!

K' so I have been slacking reaaally bad on keeping up on my blog. Geez in order to get caught back up I would have to go CLLLLLEEEEAAAAARRRRR back to February 23rd and it is now MARCH 10TH. UGH!!! Well, here goes another Epic long post, I promise myself to be better from now on, yeah right.

February 23rd - February 25th as far as I can remember pretty uneventful. Same old, same old, school, homework, dinner, sleep, school, homework, dinner, sleep etc.

February 26th - A sad day at the elementary school as Mr. Dee Pehrson passed away. I went to drop something off at the school to Kambrie. She had heard the news and was upset, Mr. Pehrson used to tease and play with the kids. I talked with her for just a few minutes then headed off to class myself. On my way home I had tried calling mom to see what had went on because I didn't know for sure. When I tried calling mom she answered her phone all ratty like (LOL). She wanted to know where I was and what I was doing, she had a car FULL OF kids and had run out of gas or so she thought. Fuel pump had gone out. So she was not in the mood to chat. Cameron had brought her gas drove her and the kids to their lessons then back to the burb. They couldn't get it going so they had to call Dad to come to their aid. Dad got it running again long enough to make it over to Kim Hansen to repair it by Saturday. Mom took my van to gather up children and feed them dinner while I worked. What a hectic and chaotic day by the time it was all over.
February 27th - I went to class, kids went to school, and Hank toted off to work. We decided that we would go down to the district basketball game in Glenns Ferry that night. So I traveled back from Twin to turn around and go back to Twin, we stopped to eat dinner on our way. Then off to Glenns Ferry. Glenns Ferry won the game and deservedly so, they out played us. We had so many turn overs. I was happy to be off the road and in my bed late Friday night.

February 28th - I think we slept in a little today. Kambrie had a voice competition at 11:30.
She went and sang, she did very well earning a Superior on her score. I met mom in town to take Macy and Hallie into sing at their scheduled time while Mother and McKade got their weekly fix of visiting the D.I. Macy and Hallie did very well singing as well, each of them earning a Superior score as well. Later that afternoon Mom was trying to decide whether we would go to Boise that night or wait until Sunday morning to go down. We were going to our cousin Dawn's baby shower down in Boise. We decided we would leave Saturday night around 6:30, which transpired into 7:30 by the time we turned around to go back and get the things we had forgotten. Whatta ride, me, Mom, Kambrie, Macy, Hallie, and Mckade going to Boise together. They were all actually REALLLLLY good. We got to Marlea's ate some dinner and just hung out chatting.

March 1st- A day I won't soon forget. We got up Sunday morning and Ted our personal chef started preparing breakfast for us. He made sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, blueberry pancakes, and eggs. We ALL ate well that morning. I helped Marlea get things cleaned back up, then mom and I went downtown to get a gift for the baby shower. When we got back to Marlea's they were all ready to go to the shower. We had a little difficulty following the directions we were given by Dawn's friend who was hosting the shower. We were only 30 minutes late. ;) Dawn was an hour late, guess she can't follow directions either. My vote is the friend doesn't know how to give very good directions. ;) It was good to see Dawn and know she has friends close by to help and support her. We left the shower around 6.

We were on our way back to Marlea's house, everything was going fine. Mom was driving us a little crazy with her obsessive asking of "Does everybody have their seat belts on?" She asked this quite a few times throughout our trip just ever so randomly. McKade had been having trouble with his seat belt so mother told him he needed to move over to the one that was working. I had just talked to Kim and hadn't been off the phone for a few minutes. When I heard "Hang on", I looked up to see a car headed straight for us. Then a huge "BOOM". The next thing I know we are at a complete stop, I was gasping for air, I could not breathe (airbags hurt). It seemed like forever but really only took a little bit to get my breath back. Kambrie was screaming trying to get to me. (Her scream is something I will never forget) Mother was telling everybody to sit still, while Marlea was telling everybody to get out. I was looking around to see if anybody was hurt and trying to get out. Everything that was floating into the suburban was making it very hard to breathe. I got out and was trying to get to my phone when a gentleman come running up and told me he had called 911. He made sure everybody was out of the suburban. The kids were all crying. Macy's face started to swell immediately. McKade smacked his nose on something, Kambrie, Mother, and Hallie did not have any visible wounds. I was burned a little bit on my arm, and had a hard time breathing normally but was fine otherwise. Marlea thought her wrist was broken (she thought right).
I called Hank to tell him to get headed to Boise, we had been in an accident and that the "burb" was not going to be hauling us home. We sat at the curbside what seemed like forever, there were several nice people that had come out of their homes to help. They offered to get and do anything they could for the kids. The paramedics came and were looking over our crew while others were assisting the gentlemen in the other car. He could not get out. We went to St. Luke's in Meridian where Marlea works. Mom and Macy rode in the ambulance while Ted took the rest of us. We all checked in and were looked over.
Brett had come over to see if there was anything he could do, which we appreciate. Shortly thereafter Hank and Dad arrived. I was so glad to see them. Macy ended up having to get stitches in her mouth, she was a trooper while the doctor fixed her up. Marlea did have a broken wrist and was put in a splint for the time being. Mindy and Scott had been on their way home from Northern Idaho. They thought they would be making a trip to Boise that night also, but did not have to since they did not keep Macy overnight. We returned to Declo in one piece at about 2:30 a.m. The gentlemen in the other vehicle was not so lucky he did not make it. Mom & Dad sent flowers to the service, I sent a card up to his family. Mindy believes it was his time to go and the more I think about it, the more I agree with her.

March 2nd thru 7th- Oh, I hurt and did not sleep well. I cannot afford to miss class, if I do then my partner has to miss then we both have to make it up. So drug me up with some Advil then off to Twin I go. UGH!!!! What a long miserable days these have been. Kim was very thoughtful and brought us over dinner on Monday night. Kambrie complains her back hurts even more than it did before. My right arm aches and I feel like something is pinching me in the back. My classmates were very sweet and gave me a little gift to help me relax. I was really surprised on Friday. I had talked to my dad and he had been over to my house putting the trim up in my room. Hank has been great and working on getting it finished for me. Over the weekend he siliconed and primed the closet area that needed done. Mindy was the good Auntie she is and invited Kambrie down to dye eggs with her and her kids. I worked slowly on painting my closet doors which Hank is not fond of the color but it is my room so I will do what I want. I painted them "muted gold" he told me it looks like baby poop. They will look good when I am done. :)

March 8th - Sunday, we sprung forward and lost an hour. ICK!! We went to church, Cameron stayed home because he was not feeling well. Kambrie gave talk and did a good job. We came home at some dinner then we laid down for a nap, it felt so gooooood. I haven't had a 3 hour nap in a long time and I needed it. When we got up the kids had cleaned the house up, which I ALWAYS appreciate.

Stopping there for now, hopefully next time it won't be so terribly long. : )
Oh, I have been terrible about taking pics so Thanks Mindy and Marlea for taking them for me.
