Happy Birthday Grandpa Henry & Grandma DeVon

Just wanted to wish Grandpa Henry and Grandma DeVon a Happy Birthday. I did con the kids into singing a little birthday wish. Kambrie well she was all for it, Cameron not so much. However, he was a good sport. ;) Even though there are many miles between us we think of you often and miss you. Love you and have a fabulous birthday!!!

Last Weeks Happenings 1/19/09

Hmmmm. Let's see what I can remember from last week.

Monday - Today was Martin Luther King day so we didn't have classes at ISU. I went to work and got everything ready for Tuesday's payroll. Not much else went on just went Kambrie had the usual tumbling and voice lessons. Just another day in paradise I guess. LOL!

Tuesday - Today I went to work then met up with Mari to go to Twin for class, I was lucky and got to stay in the earlier class again this week. Tuesday's are so long, class from 12 - 6:30 straight, UGH!!!! I tried to catch bits and pieces of the Inaugural address but was not very successful. Did catch up a bit on the internet later, not really quit sure about how I feel about things just yet. We watched a little American Idol and True Beauty, did homework then went to bed.

Wednesday - Another usual morning went to work then met up with Mari to head to Twin we left a little bit earlier than normal because we did not want to be late getting into the classroom. Today, is the first day we get into the classroom. On my way to Twin Kambrie called me to tell me she was sick, great. What can I do? Well, lucky for me Grandma Joyce was around to pick her up. I felt so bad as I was in the teacher orientation she called me four times to tell me Grandma had taken her home. She thought her dad was home but he was at work, she tried taking care of herself by taking a hot bath, Grandma Joyce had given her some Pepto but still felt sick. She called crying into my machine saying she felt like she was going to throw up for Kambrie this puts her over the edge. She cannot handle it very well. I felt so helpless that I could do nothing for her. A few minutes later I get a message she is going to Grandma Joyce's, whew somebody to take care of her and make her feel better. We were introduced into our 1st grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary school in Twin Falls. This school is so different from our little old school in Declo. I enjoyed my first day there, during the first few minutes one little girl gave me a little heart she had cut out and said it was for me. I read with a little boy that struggles with reading and helped students with their math. It was actually fun to be in the classroom and helping them. When I got home Kambrie was at Grandma's so I went and picked her up, met Hank at the house then went to Rupert to get the truck picked up. I'm not sure what else went on other than Cameron went to mutual, Kambrie stayed home sick.

Thursday - Went to work as usual for the morning then met up with the gals that go Twin.
Dr. Newsome is our instructor for Thursday, he tries to come up things that are fun and make the time pass quickly. Today we learned more about our TWS that are due for this class. I am dreading this assignment, it is one I CANNOT put off until the last minute. Hank took today off from Brewsters because next week he has a big project at Black Hills plus he is working all weekend. Kambrie went to dancing then to basketball practice. Ummm, not remembering what went on that evening. I am losing it.
Friday - Work as usual, I will be glad when Jeff gets back other than he will have a fit with the checks I have written trying to stay caught up with Jim & Larry. Mari & I met up at Penney's so we could carpool to Twin, we are in the classroom again today. It was fun the kids were happy to see us. The kids were all wound up this afternoon as they had three fire drills throughout the morning. I think our CT was about ready to scream. LOL!!! We helped through math then while they went to P.E. she talked to us about our TWS and gave us the information we needed to do the demographics. When I got home from Twin I went over to Black Hills to help Hank with some typing, Cameron went to the Burley/Minico game with Drew then went to a friends to watch movies with a bunch of kids. We just loafed around and didn't do much Friday night.

Saturday - Kambrie had a game at 8, so we were up bright and early to get to that. Her and Macy play on the same team and they did well. They both scored a few points for their team. Grandpa Rod came to watch them play so they were trying to do well. After the game I went home we did a few chores then headed to Burley to get some shelving for my scrapbooking room, mom & I went to the D.I. where I found some good deals. We then had to stop at
Wal-Mart for a few things. Mindy and Scott had invited Kambrie to go swimming with them so she was off with them for the afternoon. I had to be home around 3 because we decided to sell one of our horses. He has been a good horse, but we just don't ride him all that much plus we have two more that Hank is working with. He went to a good home where there are kids eager to ride him. Kinda silly but I cried when he left. I had told Kambrie, Macy, & Sydney I would take them to Mall Cop that evening with explicit instructions not to pester Cameron. Cameron had a double date tonight which he was excited about, they went to Shon Hing's, then to the show. After the movie they came out to the house to play games. They seemed to have a good time. I had to tell Kambrie and her friends to disappear a few times so they were not hovering too much. Hank, mom & I hung my wallpaper boarder in my room. Cameron took his date home and returned we chatted for a bit then went to bed.

Sunday- I did not feel very well so I didn't do much, tried working on some homework, fixed dinner, helped Kambrie with her homework and updated my blog while I waited for Cameron's shirt to finish washing. Now it is time for bed.

Picture Tag......

Ok, I was tagged by my fun loving friend Carie. Here is how you do it.....post the 4th picture from the 4th photo album on my computer and then explain the picture (and then tag 4 people).
This picture was taken at one of Kambrie's birthday parties, I cannot remember for sure but I think it was her 4th birthday. Kambrie LOVED the Wizard of Oz, she wore her ruby red slippers EVERYWHERE. She wanted a Wizard of Oz party and of course everybody had to dress up. Marlea and Grandma Joyce were Glinda the Good Witch, Aunt Mindy was the Wicked Witch, Cameron & Grandma Marilyn were the Scarecrow, I was the Tin Man, Hal made the perfect munchkin. Macy & Kambrie both loved being Dorothy. No party was complete without the yellow brick road, we were lucky it was a nice December day. LOL!!!
K' so now I tag Char, Kenna, & Krissy

Last weeks Happenings

Um, let's see where to begin nothing really too eventful just a long and drug out week.

Monday - I can't relive Monday, I posted about it earlier. Brief synopsis went to work heard cat, couldn't find cat, had to leave for class, left for class, drivers side window blew out, DH rescued me, went to class came back to Burley, took DD to gymnastics then to voice then home to do homework. WHEW!!!!

Tuesday - Heard cat again, found cat, cat was hungry and thirsty. Fed him a few scraps from the fridge gave him water, cat ran off haven't seen him since. Went to class, LONNNGG day in class from 12:30 - 6:30 UGH!!! Returned home watched a little Idol then went to bed.

Wednesday - I went to work, then off to Twin for class. Returned home picked Kambrie up from basketball practice then I don't remember what else I did.

Thursday - My life has become very repititious, YUCK!! Go to work, go to Twin everyday for class. UGH!!! Picked Kambrie up from dancing. Took her home to get ready to go and perform with her tumbling team at the Declo girls game. They looked great and she received many compliments on how well she did. She is a good little tumbler. Oh, and I was going to video it but of course my batteries were dead. Luckily, Aunt Mindy took a few pics for me.

Friday - Same old same old, work then class. I don't remember much else. Other than I picked up chicken for Hank's dinner. LOL!!! I didn't cook all week long. Oh, Kim and I went to see Bride Wars that evening, it was good girls night out.

Saturday - Kambrie had a basketball game this morning so we went and watched her play. They did played pretty well for only having one practice. We returned home, Hank went to bed since he had worked the night before. I thought I would lay down for just a short nap to recharge and completely crashed until about 3, OOPS!!! I went to town to get groceries returned home, Kambrie's dance group performed at the J.V. boys game, so we went to the game. It was a close game and Declo came out on top. YEAH!!! Cameron had gone on a date and stayed the night at mom's house since Dad was gone. I took Kambrie and Sydney to my house to watch a movie, then took Hank over some dinner and visited with him for a little while.

Sunday - The kids and I went to church, then lounged around. We watched a little football, ate a little dinner, read together as a family, then had a little checker tournament. There is definitely going to have to be a rematch, since I didn't win. ;) LOL!!!! Hank took off for work, the kids and I did homework. Mom and Gma Joyce stopped in on their way home from Poky. We visited for a little while then it was time to call it a night.

Thought for Thursday

It remains . . . for you and me to both seek and tender [the Savior's] forgiveness—to both repent and to extend charity to others—which enables us to pass through the door the Savior holds open, thus to cross the threshold from this life into exaltation. Today is the day to forgive others their trespasses, secure in the knowledge that the Lord will thus forgive ours. As Luke significantly recorded, 'Be ye therefore merciful' (Luke 6:36; emphasis added). Perfection may elude us here, but we can be merciful. And in the end, repenting and forgiving are among God's chief requirements of us."
Lance B. Wickman, "Today," Ensign, May 2008, 105

I liked this quote because it has made me do a little thinking about forgiveness and repentance. Lately, I have found it easier to bring up things from the past that I had let go along time ago. When infact in reality it is me, myself that I am really angered with and find it difficult to accept my own failures and my own disgressions. For me forgiving is easier than repenting and admitting to my own shortcomings and failures.

WHAT a MONDAY!!!! UGH,

Okay, so classes started back up yesterday plus still trying to balance work. Well, Monday started out just a little bit trippy for me. I came into work and sitting at my desk listening to Neil Diamond having a good morning so far. While I am sitting at my desk I keep hearing, meow, meow, meow. UM, look outside the window, no cat. Continue typing hear it again, meow, meow, meow. Ask Leticia do you hear anything (of course the cat does not meow while she is back in my office) um, no. Melanie, are you losing it? Probably. Go on with my work, I hear a rustling and a big meow underneath the floor, K' I know I am a little off, but this is just nuts. Leticia comes back to my office again, we stand in my office calling here kitty, kitty. Jeff comes in the back door, "What are you doing?" I tell him I think there is a cat under the building. Oh, yeah I think there is one under there too. He must have crawled under there when we were hooking up the hot water heater. I heard him the other day. Um, okay. Well, you gonna leave him under there or going to get him out? Oh, I will send Dee under there later. Its 11:00, time to go.

Well, off to Twin for classes left in good time shouldn't be late. Um, getting on the interstate was a bit scary one semi in the left lane one trying to get on I am stuck in the middle. Crap, hit my brakes so the bozo coming on doesn't just plow me over. Can't get in the other lane because of the semi and a van riding it tail. PLINK, great another rock chip. Um, wonder where that one landed. Keep driving.............................. about 20 minutes later BBBBBOOOOOOOOOMMMM. What the heck, glass shattered all over my left side down on the floor. I grab myself feeling if I was hurt anywhere. Thank goodness no, scared YESSSSS!!! Call my own personal Rescue Ranger, Mr. Clark. Hank my drivers side window just blew out, him WHAT?????? Um, yeah window is gone. K' let me get back to the house, put the horse up and I will come trade you vehicles. Fab, get to drive the gas hog to Twin, can't do this all week. Call the insurance, call Crawfords, they could have it done possibly today or tomorrow. Great, call Gpa Fred and Gma Joyce they are in town, great. They can pick Hank up at Crawfords and take him home. Hank gets to the Kasota exit trades me cars, I am sure he shook his head back all the way to Burley. When he traded me cars he very nicely asks, please don't break anything else. (See the van just got out of the auto shop on Friday due to a tranny leak, like that was my fault, LOL). Off to Twin I go again, now about 30 min late for class.

Get to class, instructor had received my message about my little mishap. Class was going to be all hunky dory until she informed us that we would be driving to Twin everyday and we could not do our field experience in Burley. WHAT!!!!!!!! The five of us that drive decide we will talk to someone a little higher up the totem pole before we commit to driving everyday.

Head back to Burley, Crawford's call my van is done. YEAH!!! Call mom & dad see if they are in town, mom rides to town with dad to pick up my van. Cameron is at therapy, go pick up Kambrie from therapy take her to tumbling. They had their just for fun meet, she did well. Go to voice lessons. I am sitting in the driveway waiting for her to finish, I feel something move the truck, think awe it was nothing. Feel it again, turn on the cargo light but can't see anything. Um, next thing I know a cat comes walking down over the windsheild, damn cat. Scare me to death, I haven't had enough of that today. Kambrie jumps in the truck we head home. Took a nice long bath, watched a little t.v., helped Kambrie w/ her homework and went to bed.

Oh, and about the cat under the office building nobody got him out on Monday. He meowed again today. I go and uncover the manhole, yell here kitty, kitty. Jeff acted like they were going to just ignore it for a little bit longer until Leticia and I figured out where he was. He was down by my internet and computer cords. Leticia says maybe that is why our internet has kept going down the last few days. So, Jeff finally sent Dee down to find the kitty. He came out scraggly black cat that is pretty friendly. Glad is out and that I am not crazy....

Don't Argue with a 5 year old

McKade and Grandpa Fred were having a slight disagreement about traps. McKade is very adamant that Grandpa Rod knows more about trapping than Grandpa Fred. Then he gets all frustrated and confused with whose dad Grandpa Fred is. He is one animated boy.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

Well, I am another year older, but actually feeling pretty good about it. Considering Jeff (my boss) just received his first AARP card today, he turns 50 next week. LOL!!! It has been a pretty decent day so far. I received many Happy Birthday wishes this morning before I went to work. I enjoyed reading Mindy's blog where she shared some great memories and wished me a happy birthday. Aunt Jane and Aunt Sherry both sent me lovely birthday cards and wishes. My friend Kim took me to lunch at STEVO'S. YAY!!!! After lunch I went to Wally world to get a few things for work, when I walked in I received a text wishing me a happy birthday from a friend I had not heard from for a while. It was so good to hear from her and got to talk to her this afternoon for a bit.

So thank you all for all the birthday wishes but most of all for your love and friendship.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 55th birthday. I just want to say how much I appreciate all he has done and still continues to do for me each and everyday. I know I can always count on him. I appreciate the awesome grandfather he is to my children and truly appreciate the great relationship he has with them. (Anyone that knows me very well, knows that I am bawling my eyes out as I try to type). So instead I have created a video it mainly has pics of the grandkids but dad is behind everyone of them in some way, watching, supporting, and participating. I struggled trying to find just the right music that could say it all, don't know that I got it just right but I think I am close.

This is my now, made me think of when I was a kid and now as my kids grow up the moments we experience. Some big, some small, no matter what we are doing Dad is always there to support us.

This is my now
And I am breathing in the moment
As I look around
I can't believe the love I see
My fears behind me
Gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then
This is my now

And the next song There's a Hero, I think explains itself pretty easily.
There is a hero in everybody's heart. Dad is a hero in our hearts.

Happy Birthday, Love you.

Happy New Year!!!

Want a drink?

3 stooges

Well, so long 2008 and hello 2009. Boy time flies when your having a good time. LOL!! This is my third attempt to update my blog since the New Year. First of all the New Year came in with five girls hangin' out at my place for a New Year Celebration sleepover. It was a last minute planning but turned out well .The girls played games, giggled, screamed and even made a few prank calls I think while I slipped out for a little bit down to Dee and Angie's.

Hank had to work, so not much fun for us to say the least.

Cameron went to the teen dance with a group of friends and had a good time. He says he danced with a bunch of different girls, but is a bit too much like his father and cannot remember anyone's names.
When I came back from Dee & Angie's I made the girls breakfast and they toasted their hot Wassail to a Happy New Year. Then the brainiacs decided they would write down a New Years resolution light it on fire and drink it down in a cup of rootbeer. YUCK!!! They took forever and a day to get them burned down, infact most of them didn't burn down too good at all. They all wished each other another Happy New Year, took a swig of their rootbeer and about gagged. LOL!!! They screamed, giggled and played singstar until about 2 a.m., I finally told them it was time to put in a movie and wind down. They popped in a movie and I crashed in my room for the night.
